The Federal Government brought forward the wrong first home buyer assistance scheme

I don't support any of the demand-side stimulus schemes for first home buyers that have been introduced but thinking more about things, they definitely brought-forward the wrong scheme.

There were two new housing schemes that the Federal Government was set to commence at the start of next year, the Home Guarantee Scheme and the Help-to-Buy Scheme. Both are demand-side policies that assist first home buyers enter into an inflated housing market sooner and both are likely to be politically popular but are bad policy.
